She was a rasberry today

The story:

I was in the 7th grade when Prince released his "tape" with this single on it. It was played non-stop on radio stations that summer.

My friends and I were hanging out and the song came on the radio and we all began singing along with it. My voice and wrong words -- rather loudly at the moment, I might add -- apparently drowned everyone else out. Everyone began cracking up and asked me to repeate what I just said (sang). I repeated it, still not realizing it was wrong, and this creating more laughter.

They finally stopped laughing and were able to tell me what the deal was -- then I began cracking up with them. (Incidentally at the age I had no idea what a beret hat was, so the correct lyrics still made little sense to me.)
