Additionally, I always thought "'cause" in the lyrics was "cuz'" (as in, "cousin"), with the song seeming to have somethingly vaguely to do with incestuous loss of virginity. Hence my mishearing "blood we shed/bird's I'll share". No, it's not funny, but don't argue with a person who takes interesting medicine.
