    That would be ecstasy
    you and me and Leslie

    Song: Groovin'
Real Lyric: That would be ecstasy you and me endlessly...grovin'

    The story:

When my husband and I were first dating this song played out over the car radio. Afterwords, my then date comments, "There's one thing I've always wondered about in that song: Who the hell is Leslie, anyway?"

I can't figure out what he's talking about so he sings his explanation, "That would be ecstasy-you and me...and Lesley!"

He looked at me with the eyebrows raised and chin lowered in all seriousness. Realizing that his misheard lyrics had lead him to conclude that for these Young Rascals, "Groovin" was code for having a threesome, I fell into fits of laughter. Bringing him in on the joke proved to be difficult because I couldn't say the word "endlessly" without picturing Leslie in the middle.

I finally got the word out of my mouth and he quickly absorbed it before letting loose with an avalanche of laughter. Thus began our lifelong bond of shared humor. Laughter's the glue that holds us together (along with a healthy dose of loyalty and lust!)
