I pride myself on being a Renaissance Man of music and knowing songs from even much before my time. I think I first heard this song about the time Barbarella the movie was being shown for the first time on HBO. My brain made the connection somehow and to this day I sing my lyrics unconciously. I was probably 19 or so when I was listening to it on the radio loud enough to catch that Sade wasn't saying "Barbarella" at all.
