Actually this was misheard by a friend who was singing in a band at a wedding way back in 1988.
It happens that Shanti is an Indian girls name.
And my friend was happily singing on stage. After the performance i asked him what the title of the song was and he replied, Oh Shanti....I screamed
You idiot ...its Ocean Deep...at which he blushed and said ...you mean all this years i thought Cliff was singing about an Indian girl named Shanti
