    The story:

Holy Crap! I'm 47 and have heard this song since I was a kid. Was looking up lyrics to put on my i-pod and found the real ones. I'm not kidding! I can't believe how off I was. I don't think the real lyrics will ever stick with me after all these years, but I was kind of tickled that I was so wrong for so long about such a common song.

BTW, something has to be done to shoo the children and their made up submissions off this site. If they were slightly funny I might let it slide. But they sound so made up it reminds me of my little sister trying to retell a joke she had over heard me say, then change it around to try to make it her own. Sounded totally made up. The beauty of misheard lyrics is they have so much truth to them, and we laugh at ourselves about what we thought we'd heard, and were mistaken about for years.
