This wasn't actually misheard. A local band called Tramlines used to alternate the lines at the end of the song. At the time, British Satelite Broadcasting was in financial difficulties and was taken over by rival Sky Televison. The change in words was Neil & Ian's comment, on the fact. The majority of their audience was too rat-a$$ed to notice!!!
