I've been playing this song in my car since it came out in late 2000. Somehow I figured the line wasn't "Funny how the bats mate" but I never would've gotten "Tony Allen dancing" out of it. Who is he? I didn't even take a stab at the next line.
However, being that it's Damon Albarn, I can be forgiven for mishearing or for imagining that it may well be what I heard. I think.
