I heard the song for the first time on an episode of Gilmore Girls. It was playing on a radio in the background so it wasn't really clear. I thought it was kinda odd, but forgot about it. A few months later I was looking at a David Bowie cd, saw the song Suffragette City, put two and two together and double checked the lyrics.
