Fortunately, I suffered in silence during a visit to the South where I heard this particular phrase used accurately to describe someone who "was too big for their britches." I did admit it years later to a dear friend of mine who was born and raised in North Carolina. We now use 'fuzzy raisin' instead of 'above your raising.'
