I got Odelay when I was fourteen, but never bothered to actually research the lyrics until I was about 19 or 20.
I had gone all those years, saying "Bob Barker told me so!" at the appropriate place in the song, and no one ever said a WORD. Maybe they thought I was right. God only knows. The point is, when I found out how horribly wrong I had been, while looking at a Beck website one day, I was so filled with horror -- and indignant annoyance, that Beck hadn't actually said anything about Bob Barker.
