Well, geez, at the time, I was younger than a teen and was singing it in front of a bunch of other kids when everyone began laughing. I still didn't really believe them until I saw the lyrics myself in a music store!! This happened at the same time I was listening (and mishearing) another song... I seemed doomed to ever get a lyric correct on my own and thus began a complex that has lasted well into my adulthood about singing in public, whether I know the words or NOT!! Heh heh!
