I tell you this band is just a mystery when it comes to lyrics. I think Bradley was just so wasted he didn't know, changed, screwed up or ad-libbed lyrics from any official lyric all the time. Not sure anyone has a better ear for hearing much of their work than most others since it is generally low quality recording. There is no way anyone can pick up "Quarrels with God" from what he says, which is clearly closer to "Whores with Guns", and closer to the edgy punk lyric base of the band. Unless he misspoke it or the take came out guturral, twice, and they went with it. They went with "April 26th 1992" in the song named "April 29th 1992". They went with "5446 was my number" in a song named "5446 is my number". They went with "One more time, 5547 was my number" in the same song called "5446 is my number" presumably repeating the prior line "5446 was my number". There are many such examples in their work. All that said, Sublime was one of the best bands ever for too short a time. Date Rape sums it up. A bass line that tells the story better than a symphony tells its composer's story; upbeat ska music with downer lyrics too vile to repeat yet too funny not to.
