The story:
This was an actual misinterpretation by Greg Allman's record producer Johnny Sandlin. Greg was singing this new song and Johnny asked him for a repeat. Greg said in his usual mushmouth "What are you ... deaf? It's Multicolored Lady" Never mind that Johnny was listening in a multi-million dollar Westlake Audio recording studio!
