I was in Electronic Intelligence in the United States Air Force Security Service during the Vietnam Era. I had to have perfect hearing to be able to qualify for my job. When I got out, I went to graduate school. It required a hearing test. I could no longer hear high frequencies and had tonitus (spelling?). I couldn't, and can't, prove it was service related. However, I recently got hearing aides (same findings... can't hear high frequencies... and, guess what? tonitus...). Last week, I was driving to work wearing my new hearing apperatus; "Celebrate" came on, and I heard for the first time since it came out, "...dance to the music." Imagine my surprise, I had been hearing, "dance to the new day," for all those years. So, maybe wearing those damn headsets and listening to wierd noices did have something to do with my hearing loss. I know, this is not funny. However, it set me back when I saw the name of this article when I was searching just to get the date of when celebrate came out. It truly is a very small world.
