The story:
I was singing the song, and my uncle heard me say "feedbag."
We happened to be in a store that sold pet food, and so he
pointed to the top shelf of the horse supplies aisle, and said,
"Which feedbag is yours?'
Then he told me the right lyrics, and I was so embarrassed at
having been so wrong all these years!

We had the same misheard lyric in our family for a time, but I think my wild and crazy 12-13 yr old daughters invented this just for fun, not by mistake...but it is the same 'mis-lyric'.
