I never really questioned this mishearing, as Japanese music tends to use a lot of English phrases (In fact, the very next line in the song is "I'm awakening in the new world), and this line didn't seem all that ridiculous... Didn't have any embarassment, but when I looked up the lyrics I found out what they were really saying.
