THE MISHEARD:

Wake up to find out that you are disguised as a squirrel.
The heart has its peaches, its groveland and thoughts of its own.
Wake now, discover that you are the song that the Mormon brings.
The heart has its seizures, its evenings, and songs of its own.

Real Lyric Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world.
The heart has its beaches, its homeland and thoughts of its own.
Wake now, discover that you are the song that the mornin' brings.
The heart has its seasons, its evenings, and songs of its own.

The story:

When I was a child, my mother and her siblings listened to a lot of classic rock. The Grateful Dead was in constant rotation in the house. One day I was singing this song to myself when my uncle interrupted me, asking me to repeat what I had just sung. When I did so, he burst out in hysterical laughter and (when he regained his composure) explained the actual lyrics to me.
