I was like, "Ok, so the Beach Boys had some British pop envy." After singing it lustily in the car with my mom, we looked at each other and said, "Those CAN'T be the real lyrics." I hauled out the cassette cover (one of those folding ones with all the lyrics printed in tiny tiny letters) and when I read the correct lyrics out loud, we both laughed until we cried.
