The story:
I was singing along to the radio with a co-worker's children, to this song. I thought I would impress them with my knowledge of the lyrics, but when it came to the "every child apiece" line, the children laughed instead of being amazed. Then, they took me to a song lyric site on the web just to show me what the words really were. Being proven wrong by 10 and 9 year olds really deflated my ego balloon in a hurry. Besides, what the hell does "every child apiece" mean, anyway?
