The first couple times I heard this song on the air, I thought it was about the fact that no matter what you do in life, somebody's always going to make fun of you about it. I thought this was a really cool and profound thing to write about, and thus for a while it was my favorite Alanis song. Then one day I was talking with my sister, and I asked her, "Don't you love that song, 'You Nerd'?" She was confused, so I proceeded to sing it to her, and she said, "Duh, it's not 'You Nerd', it's 'You Learn'!" I don't like that song quite as much anymore.
