Well, the kids are all hived up and ready to go/they've got their supper 'cuz the momma's at the discotheque to go/but she just cut a steak/she had to break away/aw she won't shoot it in the heights at all/oh yeah/sheena is a barn rocker
Real Lyric
Well, the kids are all hopped up and ready to go/they've got their surfboards, and they're going to the discotheque au-go-go/but she just couldn't stay/she had to break away/aw new york city really has it all/oh yeah/sheena is a punk rocker, sheena is... etc.
I managed to get the entire song wrong. What was once a tune about the explosion in roots rock n' roll in CBGB's, became a surreal fable about Sheena, who "rocked barns", (?) and the crowd she hung out with, who would apparently get "hived up", (??) and fixate about food, but in the end Sheena had to leave because of overly tough meat. (???) In my defense, I had only ever heard the version of the song from "Loco Live", which is really garbled (even for Joey). I didn't worry about the lyrics and just mumbled them phonetically like Joey whenever I sung them... that is until... my friend Dave suspected that I had them wrong. I told him what i thought the song was, he almost bust a gut and sent me a lyric sheet he had gotten from somewhere. You live, you learn.
