I was singing this in the car with my boyfriend, and I commented that I always thought it was funny that Stevie Nicks would be singing about a one winged dove, and how whenever I thought about the song, I pictured a poor little dove flying in a circle.
He looked at me in disbelief, thinking I was pulling his leg. Nope, I actually thought she was singing about a lame dove.
He told me the real lyrics, and I agreed it made more sense, but I still hear it as one winged dove. I called a friend of mine whose dad likes Stevie Nicks and fleetwood mac, and she spent a good 10 minutes laughing at me.
Most of my misunderstood lyrics are from my teens, but this one I held onto until I was nearly 30.
