I never could understand ANYTHING Ray Charles said, and I knew I had to be wrong - the heart isn't hairy, is it? I finally settled upon I'd shave my heart" or "Un-Jane my heart" (thought it was about a really bitter breakup with a girl named Jane). FinallyI bought the LP and listened to it numerous times at 16 R.P.M. to try to discern what was being said. I never sang it the incorrect way I just still think of the lyrics as I mistook them.
