The story:

This was my husband's flub. I'm older than my husband - I was 14 when this song was out but he was ony 6, so he doesn't remember it when it was out but I definitely do. We had been dating maybe a month and this song came on the car radio, and he started belting it out as loud as he could. When he came to this line and said Millennium I asked what did you just say??? When he said it again, I started laughing and had to explain to him that in 1976 no one was thinking about the Millennium, it was a about the Bicentennial but the year 2000 wasn't even on the map yet. To this day he still proudly sings his version, he just likes it better.

When I was younger,I thought it was Millennium also, but that was when Star Wars had come out...I thought they were talking about the Millenium Falcon...!!!
