When I looked the lyric up, I realized I was not only mis-hearing the lyric "gold-capped tooth" as "gold tattoo" (the 2nd line of the song, which is already listed in your archives as a commonly misheard lyric), but was mis-hearing the 1st line as well, which made it rhyme with tattoo. Looking the whole lyric over, it all rhymes perfectly. It's just that "Madame Ruth / gold-capped tooth" is the correct lyric. I believe it's the singer's poor enunciation that makes people mis-hear it.
