The story:

A sorority/frat dance-there was a live band and I came up to the stage and sang the chorus "with" the band-although you could only hear me. The guys in the band all started to crack up and stop playing and asked me to repeat the lyrics w/out music playing-I was teased about that for the next 3 years of college!
