The story:

This wasn't me, it was my best friend--and it wasn't that she was hearing the words wrong, it was that she was mis-hearing the emphasis. She thought it meant, "No woman, no cry" as in, "I don't have a woman in my life and that thrills me to death because women suck." If you listen to the rest of the song, you realize it's SUPPOSED to be heard as a tender love ballad where the singer is telling his love not to cry because everything is good. She was quite embarrassed when, after heaping scorn on it, I pointed out the REST of the lyric and explained she was misunderstanding it.
