I often wondered why an American band would use cockney rhyming slang (China plate = mate). From the Doors original via all the other covers I clung to my belief, until I heard the Gareth Gates. That's the embarrassing part...
Has anyone outside the UK heard of Gareth Gates? Runner-up in the UK Pop Idol programme.
