My 8-year-old son was the one who misheard this song...he had been listening to our local '80s oldies station. We were discussing various songs I remembered from high school and college. "I really like that 'Hot Buttered' song, Mom," he said, and sang the "Hot buttered" refrain. "But is it supposed to be about popcorn?"
