I heard it on the radio for the first time in years and noticed that it did not sound like what I had always thought it was - so I checked online.
The version I had heard made perfect sense to me as a 10 year old when I first heard it... Tommy turns the other cheek, Gatlin boys take turns at becky (I did not understand what that meant at the time either) gets mad... Goes and kicks their heads in... goes home and cleans the toilet floor.
