I was born in 1970 so I had heard the song plenty of times when I was a kid and just figured that the word was "balls" - it was obviously a very sexual song. Then in 2001 I was in my car and it came on, when I realized I had been wrong all these years. Glad to hear ol John Mellencamp isn't really into S&M.
