    We've got the d**k down gangsta d**k

    Artist: Fatboy Slim
Real Lyric: We've got to kick that gangsta s**t

    The story:

Heard on the radio nearly 20 years ago. I used to switch it off whenever my parents were around as a number of other parts of the song sound like they are trying to disguise the word "f**k" (obviously the word itself and not the asterisked version that this site replaces that with). Was always going to make me uncomfortable - and, on discovering the true lyric there, I now discover how justified that had been to turn the radio off/change the channel.
It wasn't just that there, but the above misheard lyric too. It seems there may have been some minor alteration to the sound of the last word thus causing confusion as it makes it sound like "d**k" (worse than the original as it gives it a sexually explicit connotation that's embarrassing in some listening environments). How wrong I was there! But would still switch it off as, "d**k" or "s**t", it's still problematic - and the use of what sounds like "fuff", but which isn't said in a normal way instead appears to be electronically changed sound and therefore means "f**k" - is also very uncomfortable to hear with other people (fortunately I knew the song contained this from hearing it alone without offence so managed to switch it off every time and thus avoided being made uncomfortable).

I was always in doubt about the "got the d**k down" part of the line so that was never problematic for me. In short, it's the 'censored' parts that cause me severe offence in listening company! Not a bleep sound but something too close (too close for comfort) to the original F word - and it now turns out means that.
