The story:

On or about the Fall of '87 had gone with my
girlfriend out to Saddle Brook NJ to see a
nutritionist for some hair, skin, and nail
health issues that that stymied her regular
tony dermatologist for quite some time, see;
the consulted woman practitioner, "Maddy"
(short for Madelyn), recommended complete
elimination of ALL foodstuffs with allergens
and/or containing chemical additives, dyes,
preservatives, etc., as well as follow-up
regular supplementation primarily with
vitamins and minerals (namely the Shaklee®
variety).
"Tony" was not her dermatologist's name though.
"Maddy's" regimen however cleared up my girl's
condition after a few months of strictly adhering
to it, and consequently we became confirmed
Shaklee® customers thereafter.
So it was with some serious surprise & amazing
astonishment that just a few years later, in '91,
"on the rideo" (sorry Donna Summer) that this
song's platter was spun, and we both couldn't
believe our ears as the tune seemed to be an ad
for Shaklee® "Vita-Lea™", multi-vitamin there on
the distort-O AM/FM car radio speakers!
"Peniston had struck a commercial deal with
Shaklee®!", or so I thought, but soon after
listening to this ditty again found the error of
my misperceiving ways, and boy!, was I tricked,
and sure felt informally like a "Richard" though
some would undoubtedly call me (and some still do
——"Dick".
