Let some raisins in the sky

    Artist: Black Sabbath
Real Lyric: Red sun rising in the sky

    The story:

Nothing really embarassing here, we, that is, my friend and I, were rather dedicated Black Sabbath fans at a time. As BS never included the lyrics in the covers, we tried to figure them out by ourselves... That bit was actually quite clear, but I still said 'what the f* is he talking about raisins?'...

Now I'm confused - always herad this line, and seen it written down as, "Like some razzia in the sky" A "razzia" being an Italian word for a round-up, raid, police/Fascist attack taking place at night to shake a place down and arrest "undesirable elements". The Germans who occupied Italy at war's end picked the word up for mass arrests of Jews, and British soldiers fighting there in WW2 picked the word up and brought it back to Britain. Osbourne used it to describe the forces of evil attacking a village by night while everyone sleeps - in keeping with the Satanic aspect of their first LP. The peace of sleep is soon to be horrifyingly broken!
