I swear I thought this was the lyric until the day I was singing along to it at work and my friend (who's about 10 years older than me) heard what I said and started crying he was laughing so hard. I was in my late teens. Looking back, I can't believe I thought Mark Knopfler was calling himself a sultan of a fabric.
