I'd always thought that the 'shock-a-lady' was some sort of dance. A few years ago my husband and I were watching "Mrs. Doubtfire" and when he dances with the vaccuum cleaner I told my husband "Look, he's doing the shock-a-lady!" My husband was speechless, so I explained to him how Steven Tyler does that one legged hop across the stage called the 'Shock-a-lady'. When he explained what they were really singing, I was speechless!
