This was in high school and several camping in Big Bend National Park. One night around the campfire, we started singing this song as loud as we could - no one around for miles - but when we reached this part of the song, one of my best friends came up with this alternative lyric. The rest of us suddenly stopped singing and looked at him as if he was crazy. We yelled, "What in the hell are singing?!?!" To this day, I can't help but crack up when I hear that part of the song.
