This was actually how a friend of mine understood the lyrics to be. We were driving around and were singing along with the song I thought I had heard her say it this way but wasn't sure so I let it go untill the song was over and she asked what kind of salty places he was talking about. I cracked up laughing and tried to explain her goof up through it as she turned red. I remind her from time to time to tease her.
