The story:
I was watching Apocalypse Now (which features this song as the opening theme) for the umpteenth time, and telling someone how wierd the lyrics to The End were, and she pointed out that I had them wrong. The embarrassing thing is that I first saw the movie 15 years ago, and in the meantime bought all of Jim Morrison's music. I must have heard this song (from this movie, The Doors movie, and the CD's) a hundred times before being corrected.
