It wasn't that embarrassing actually... I was in primary school when I first heard the song and EVERYONE thought it was the same, though we never understood why there was a seal called Alex. I found out the real words many years later when I watched a Hilary Duff remake (I think it was her) on TV, and finally understood it. I just laughed to myself and my husband (finace at the time) poked his head around the corner with a confused look and said to me, "Our lips are sealed? I thought it was Alex the seal." So my friends and I weren't alone.
