The story:
I grew up on a farm, thought this made perfect sense due to many childhood experiences.
My husband and I were in the car when the song came on the radio. My husband had a sore throat so was not singing. He thought I was joking, but upon further questioning determined I had been singing it that way for over 20 years. He never lets me forget this and enjoys bringing it up at any occasion.
