I had been saying those words since I was a little kid. I never could distinguish "to the" as seperate words. I knew it couldn't be right but I never found the correct words. About 10 years ago now my husband & I were in bed listening to the radio & looking through magazines when the song began to play. I just started singing & as soon as those words came on my husband burst out in laughter & asked me to repeat what I had just said. He (one who doesn't even really like Pink Floyd) proceeds to correct me through his tears of laughter. I still cannot live it down today. He cracks up at even the thought of Pink Floyd or the word machine.
