As it's not really a song i would normally listen to, i didn't pay much attention to it other then the catchy chorus. When it would come on at work, i'd sing the chorus how i thought it was. As i hadn't really listened to the words, i took the chorus to mean he was singing about his homeland in Sudan and how he wanted peace and love (and all that stuff) for his country. It wasn't until i was trying to describe it to my girlfriend (who had no idea, "you know, the song about Darfur...." ) that i googled it and discovered how stupid i have been. I mean, really who would release a song on mainstream radio about Sudan? Except for Sudanese musicians of course ;-)
