That song was, at the time, absolutely inescapable. I believe there were actually two versions of it battling for supremacy, and you sort of voted for your side by buying the record, or some such like.
Anyway, I asked my neighbor, Calvin, what a 'booty hat' was. He looked confused and told me that he knew what a 'jimmy cap' was, but not a booty hat.
I asked my friend, Crystal, and she burst out laughing, but thats because she always seemed to find me funny, not because she was making the true lyrical connection, which I'm sure she knew. I just wasn't asking the question in the right context.
At one point, I saw the video, purely by accident, and folks were pointing at their butts and saying 'don't forget where your booty at....'
