I requested "Bopper Anne" at a sock-hop when I was 13, and the dee-jay laughed at me. Do you know how embarassing it is for a freakin' OLDIES dee-jay in a powder-blue polyester pantsuit to laugh at you in front of a crowd of your peers? The sad thing is, I still forget it's "Barbara Ann." I think I repressed the memory.
