The story:
I misheard the opening lyric to this song--later a Michelob beer commercial--for many years on the radio and could never understand why Phil Collins would lament not having joined The Monkees. When I finally discovered the real lyrics, I can appreciate the staying power Genesis has had over America's imitation of the Beatles.
