George was a friend of mine. He used to visit a garden I tended when there was nobody else about and we would talk about trees and flowers, or environmental and development issues. George was years ahead of Sir Bob and Sting, and light years ahead of any politician (except maybe for Gandi), on these issues. George, being a very spiritual guy, knew that political will was far more important than chucking money at the major issues of our age. Politcs is all about representing ones own interests, so you can,t have the political will to mend the earth and society without love for everything. I was never much into his music, but as a friend I loved him dearly. I very recently took up the ukulele because my guitar is broken and I can,t afford to replace it with another good one. I looked up the chords of Something on the net with a mind to playing it on the uke, and it was only this morning that I realised that I had been getting the words wrong all these years. I think my words are not funny, but they make just as much sense as the George's.
