The story:

At the time, I had this whole theory on how this line made perfect sense in the song. I was thinking of tourists traveling to exotic locales, but then mostly doing things they could have done at home (such as ordering out pizza instead of sampling the local cuisine). The whole song seems to be about an Eskimo dissuading his friend from moving to a warmer climate, so I thought the line meant that even if he did move, he wouldn't really be doing anything different there. I read an interview where the correct lyric was mentioned before I went around telling people this, but I still felt pretty silly.
