I don't recall the exact moment I realized that the lyrics were wrong. I do remember visualizing people actually doing a dance called "the jerk" at their office whenever I heard the song. It just seemed like a fun thing to do. Then I saw the video and realized that nobody was actually doing anything resembling "the jerk" and no one appeared to be in an office. Even seeing the name of the song at the end of the video didn't click anything for me. After I figured out the correct lyrics, I still heard mine whenever the song played. And I'm still convinced it would be cool to do "the jerk"... do "the jerk" at work.
